Overview
The Department of Food Science and Technology, Sharda School of Bio-Sciences & Technology (SSBT) is going to organize an event for skill development. The skill development session, titled “Unlock Your Career Potential: Professional Skills for Successful Placements,” is designed to equip final-year students with essential professional and employability skills required to successfully navigate campus recruitment and enter the corporate world.
Organized by the Sharda Food Science and Technology Department, the session will focus on developing students' confidence, communication abilities, professional presentation, and interview readiness. It will provide practical insights into key aspects of the placement process, including resume and CV preparation, group discussions, aptitude assessments, personal interviews, workplace etiquette, and professional communication.
The session aims to empower students to effectively present their academic knowledge, technical competencies, and personal strengths to prospective employers. It will also emphasize the importance of interpersonal skills, teamwork, problem-solving, adaptability, positive attitude, and continuous self-development in achieving long-term career success.
Through practical guidance and interactive engagement, students will gain greater confidence and preparedness to face placement opportunities and meet the expectations of prospective employers.
Objectives of Event
1. Enhance Employability Skills: To develop essential professional competencies and soft skills required to improve students' employability.
2. Strengthen Communication Skills: To improve verbal and non-verbal communication, interpersonal interaction, and professional presentation.
3. Prepare Students for Interviews: To familiarise students with personal interview techniques, commonly asked questions, and effective interview strategies.
4. Improve Resume Writing Skills: To guide students in preparing professional, structured, and impactful resumes highlighting their academic achievements, technical expertise, internships, and relevant skills.
5. Build Confidence and Professionalism: To develop self-confidence, positive attitude, professional etiquette, and appropriate workplace behaviour.
6. Develop Group Discussion and Teamwork Skills: To strengthen students' ability to express ideas, participate constructively in discussions, demonstrate leadership, and work effectively in teams.
7. Improve Aptitude and Assessment Readiness: To familiarise students with aptitude tests, logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and other assessment techniques commonly used during campus recruitment.
8. Promote Career Readiness: To encourage students to identify their strengths, work on skill gaps, and adopt a proactive approach towards career planning and professional development.
