Overview
Sharda School of Law is organising a Guest Lecture on the Procedural Aspects of Writs in Higher Courts & Advocacy Skills on 1st April 2025. Writs in higher courts (Supreme Court under Article 32 and High Courts under Article 226) serve as extraordinary remedies for enforcing rights. It’s a prominent way to ensure justice for the citizens of the country . The process involves drafting and filing of a writ petition, court admission, response exchanges, and final judgment. The five main writs are Habeas Corpus, Mandamus, Prohibition, Certiorari, and Quo Warranto. Effective advocacy requires strong legal research, precise drafting, confident courtroom presentation, and ethical conduct. A well-prepared case with clear arguments increases the chances of obtaining relief.
Its aims to offer an in-depth analysis and practical insights into the procedural complexities of writ petitions in higher courts, along with the development of effective advocacy skills. It focuses on the legal framework governing writ petitions, the strategies for presenting them in a higher court, and how to navigate the procedural challenges involved in writ-based litigation.
