The Department of Biotechnology, SSBT/SSET, Sharda University is organizing a 5 weeks Internship Program on “Introduction to basic skills for laboratory applications in Biotechnology and Food Technology” from 2nd June to 4th July 2025 for its B.Tech 1st year students. The details of the program are given below;
Reporting Time:- 09:45 AM sharp.
Timings for Morning Session:- 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM.
Timings for Lunch:- 12:00 PM- 01:30 PM.
Timings for Afternoon Session:- 01:30 PM- 03:30 PM.

Objectives of Event
1. Introduction: To familiarize B.Tech 1st year students with fundamental laboratory practices and essential technical skills in Biotechnology and Food Technology, laying a strong foundation for advanced experimental learning.
2. Analytical Skills in Biochemistry: To develop basic proficiency in biochemical analysis techniques, focusing on the identification and quantification of biomolecules using standard laboratory tools and methods.
3. Concepts of Immunology, Diseases and Laboratory Approaches: To introduce core concepts of immunology and disease mechanisms while providing practical exposure to immunoassays and diagnostic laboratory techniques.
4. Basics in Computational Biology: To acquaint students with introductory computational tools and bioinformatics techniques used for analyzing biological sequences and molecular data.
5. Bioinstrumentations: Introduction to Separation Techniques: To impart knowledge of key laboratory instruments and separation techniques, such as centrifugation and chromatography, critical for biological sample processing and analysis.
6. Food Biotechnology and Applications: To explore the biotechnological principles and techniques applied in food processing, safety, and innovation, emphasizing real-world applications in the food industry.
7. Overall: To consolidate and integrate the technical skills and conceptual understanding gained throughout the internship, fostering a research-oriented mindset and readiness for future laboratory-based coursework and projects.
