Overview

Department of Life Science in Association with National Institute of Social Defence (NISD) is organizing a webinar on the topic “Transgender welfare; Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 & Rules, 2020”.

Objectives of Event

1.       To create awareness about the rights, identity, and welfare of transgender persons in India within the framework of constitutional values and social justice.

2.       To provide a comprehensive understanding of the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 and the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Rules, 2020, including key provisions, definitions, and safeguards.

3.       To sensitize participants to the social, legal, and institutional challenges faced by transgender persons in access to education, healthcare, employment, and public services.

4.       To explain the roles and responsibilities of government authorities, educational institutions, employers, and society in ensuring non-discrimination and inclusion of transgender persons.
