Overview

The Department of Civil Engineering is organizing an industrial site visit to RSPL Construction Company to provide students with practical exposure to ongoing construction practices. The visit aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications by allowing students to observe various construction activities at an active project site.

A key focus of the visit will be the process of Vacuum Dewatered Flooring (VDF), a modern technique used to enhance the strength, durability, and finish of concrete floors. Students will gain insights into the step-by-step procedure, equipment used, quality control measures, and advantages of VDF flooring. In addition, they will be exposed to other construction processes, safety practices, and project management aspects followed at the site.

This experiential learning opportunity will help students understand industry standards, construction methodologies, and professional practices in the field of civil engineering.

Objectives of Event

  1. To understand the practical implementation of VDF flooring, including materials, equipment, and execution techniques used on-site.
  2. To expose students to real-time construction activities, enhancing their understanding of theoretical concepts through field observation.
  3. To familiarize students with construction site management and safety practices, including workflow coordination, quality control, and adherence to industry standards.
