About The event:

The Department of Medical Laboratory Science, Sharda School of Allied Health Sciences is conducting a workshop on the theme “End TB: Awareness, Action, Accountability.” The purpose of this workshop is to raise awareness about Tuberculosis, its causes, symptoms, prevention, and the importance of early diagnosis and proper treatment. The session aims to educate students and participants about the crucial role of healthcare professionals in controlling and eliminating TB. Through informative discussions and interactive learning, the workshop will encourage participants to take responsible actions and promote accountability in supporting national and global efforts to end Tuberculosis.

World Tuberculosis Day is observed every year on March 24 to raise awareness about Tuberculosis (TB), a serious infectious disease that mainly affects the lungs. The day highlights the global effort to eliminate TB and encourages people to learn about its prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Objectives of Event

  1. To increase awareness about Tuberculosis including its causes, symptoms, transmission, and prevention.
  2. To educate participants on the importance of early diagnosis and proper laboratory testing in the detection of Tuberculosis and provide knowledge about modern diagnostic techniques used for detecting Tuberculosis in medical laboratories.
  3. To highlight the role of healthcare professionals and students in strengthening awareness, action, and accountability to help eliminate Tuberculosis.
  4. To highlight the importance of infection control measures to prevent the spread of Tuberculosis in healthcare settings and communities.
  5. To promote awareness about national and global TB control programs working toward eliminating Tuberculosis.
  6. To develop a sense of social responsibility among students and healthcare workers to support TB prevention and care
