Overview
The School of Pharmacy, Sharda University, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), is organizing an online workshop titled “Protecting IPR and IP Management for Startups” to promote awareness about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and their role in innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup development. The workshop is designed to provide participants with practical knowledge regarding patents, trademarks, copyrights, and other forms of intellectual property protection essential for safeguarding innovative ideas, research outcomes, and startup ventures.
The session will be conducted by Dr. Ramanpreet Walia, Professor & Registered Patent Agent, who will share valuable insights on strategies for protecting innovations, managing intellectual assets, and navigating the IPR ecosystem for startups and researchers. The workshop aims to encourage innovation-driven thinking and help participants understand how effective IP management contributes to sustainable business growth, commercialization, and competitive advantage.

Objectives of Event
To create awareness about the importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in innovation and entrepreneurship.
To familiarize participants with different forms of IPR including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and industrial designs.

To guide participants on safeguarding research ideas, innovations, and entrepreneurial ventures.
