Overview

The inspiring session with the Mumbai Dabbawalas on 4thSeptember 2025 at Sharda University has left us with invaluable lessons on efficiency, teamwork, and excellence. To carry forward these learnings and encourage domain-specific application, HR Catalyst- The HR Club of Sharda School of Business Studiesis organizing a Post-Event Case Study Analysis & Presentation Competition on Mumbai Dabbawalas. This competition will allow students to critically analyze the case and present insights from their own academic lens.This is an excellent opportunity to extend the learnings from the Dabbawalas’ visit and demonstrate the ability to apply management concepts in real-world contexts. The best-performing teams will be recognized for their analytical depth and presentation skills.


Competition Guidelines:

  • Theme: Mumbai Dabbawalas- One Case, Many Lenses
  • Team Size: 5 members per team
  • Participation: One team representing each domain – Marketing, HR, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Analytics
  • Task: Each team must analyze and present the case through the perspective of their respective domain
  • Marketing: Branding, customer relationship, service differentiation
  • HR: Teamwork, motivation, culture, training practices
  • Finance: Cost efficiency, financial sustainability, scalability
  • Logistics & SCM: Operations, supply chain design, efficiency models
  • Economics: Productivity, socio-economic impact, informal sector economics
  • Entrepreneurship: Innovation, business model, scalability potential
  • Analytics: Data-driven insights, error-rate analysis, performance metrics, predictive modelling of operations
  • Format: Presentation before a panel of experts.
  • Duration: 10 Minutes presentation followed by 2 minutes Q&A

Presentation Guidelines:

There is no restriction on the format of the presentation – teams are encouraged to use their creativity (PPT, posters, role play, videos, interactive models, etc.).
The concluding slide must include domain-specific suggestions for the future of the Mumbai Dabbawalas.
