Overview

The 5th National Pharmacovigilance Week (NPW) is being organized from 17th–23rd September 2025 by the National Coordination Centre – Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (NCC-PvPI), Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Ghaziabad under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO).

This year’s theme, “Your Safety, Just a Click Away: Report to PvPI”, emphasizes the importance of digital reporting platforms to enhance patient safety and strengthen pharmacovigilance systems in India. The event aims to sensitize healthcare professionals, academicians, researchers, and students about the importance of adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting and rational use of medicines.

Objectives of Event

  1. To promote a culture of medication safety across India in alignment with World Patient Safety Day (17th September).
  2. To spread awareness about reporting adverse drug reactions (ADRs) through PvPI digital tools (mobile apps, helplines, online portals).
  3. To highlight the role of pharmacovigilance in ensuring safe use of medicines and medical devices.
  4. To encourage academic institutions, hospitals, and healthcare professionals to participate actively in PvPI activities.
  5. To foster collaborative partnerships with policymakers, regulators, researchers, and global health organizations.
