Overview

The objective of the visit to the National Crafts Museum & Hastkala Academy was to expose students to India’s rich craft heritage, encourage hands-on learning from traditional artisans, and help them understand the role of crafts in shaping design thinking. The event aimed to inspire creativity, promote cultural appreciation, and enable students to draw connections between traditional practices and contemporary design applications.

Objectives of Event

  • To provide students exposure to India’s diverse craft traditions and heritage.
  • To observe and understand traditional materials, techniques, and craftsmanship.
  • To study the cultural aesthetics that influence design practices.
  • To connect traditional knowledge with contemporary design innovation.
  • To encourage appreciation for indigenous crafts and their relevance in modern contexts.
  • To inspire students to integrate craft-based learning into their creative design process.
