Overview

The Department of Sociology, Sharda School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SSHSS), Sharda University, has organized a one-day field visit to Tugalpur village on 12th August 2025, Time: 9.30 AM to 3:00 PM. As a part of their coursework, the sociology students will gain practical understanding and the importance of applied research in social sciences. During the visit, students will understand socio-economic settings of the community in the village. This visit is an essential component of the course apart from the class rooms activities. In the visit, faculty members will guide and assist the students to execute the research methods and interact with different stakeholders in the community.

Objectives of Event

• To understanding the research methods and collecting the primary data from the community in Tugalpur village.
• To study the socio-economic challenges in the semi-urban areas executing the qualitative research methods.
• To trace out critical issues that villagers have been facing and suggesting the practical solutions.
