Overview

The Juvenile Justice Wing of the Pro Bono Club, Legal Aid Society, Sharda School of Law, Sharda University, is organising the 7th Psychological Counselling Session followed by an Ice-Breaking and Recreation Session for the girls (below 18 years of age), residing at the Government Child Care Institution, Gautam Buddha Nagar. The programme, initiated by the Final Year (Female) Students of BA LL.B (H.), representing the Juvenile Justice Wing (Term 2601), aims to create a warm, welcoming, and interactive environment wherein juveniles can freely engage with the law students in fun activities, conversations, and confidence-building exercises. The ice-breaking session is preceded by a structured psychological counselling session to promote emotional well-being, resilience, and positive social interaction.

The participants primarily include girls who are ‘in conflict with the law’ and also those victims of abuse, survivors of exploitation, abandoned, orphaned, etc. They represent some of the most vulnerable sections of society and require continuous emotional support, encouragement, and positive engagement.

Objectives of Event

  • To formally introduce the Girl’s Juvenile Justice Wing (Term: 2601) and establish a friendly and supportive rapport with the juveniles through interactive ice-breaking activities.
  • To provide professional psychological counselling through expert that promotes emotional healing, confidence, resilience, and mental well-being.
  • To create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment where children feel valued, heard, and supported.
  • To strengthen collaboration between the Pro Bono Club and the Government Child Care Institution in promoting child welfare and rehabilitation.
  • To inculcate empathy, social responsibility, and practical understanding of the juvenile justice system amongst law students.
