Overview
The Department of Physics & Environmental Sciences, Sharda School of Engineering & Science (SSES), Sharda University, is organizing an invited lecture on “Industry–Academia Partnership for Driving Innovation and Inspiring Young Minds.” The lecture aims to explore the significance of effective collaboration between academic institutions and industry in fostering research, innovation, technology development, and skill enhancement among students and young researchers.
The invited lecture will provide an opportunity to understand the existing research, established practices, challenges, and emerging opportunities in Industry–Academia Partnerships. It will further encourage participants to develop collaborative approaches that can translate academic research into practical industrial applications and societal benefits.
- The goal is to develop an Academia–Industry Collaborative Research Plan that promotes joint research, innovation, technology development, and knowledge exchange.
- To bridge the gap between academia and industry by identifying challenges, expectations, and opportunities for meaningful and sustainable collaboration
- To promote industry-relevant research and innovation by encouraging academic researchers and students to address real-world industrial and societal challenges.
- To facilitate exchange of knowledge, expertise, and resources among faculty members, researchers, students, industry professionals, and other stakeholders.
- To promote international collaboration, we will extend Academia–Industry partnerships beyond national boundaries and encourage the exchange of students, researchers, professionals, and employees across countries.
- To inspire young minds by exposing students and early-career researchers to industrial research, emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, innovation, and career opportunities.
- To establish long-term collaborative frameworks involving joint projects, internships, consultancy, technology transfer, skill development, and co-development of innovative solutions.
Objectives of Event
The object of the event is to deliver the lecture and also interact with the faculties and students. What are the opportunities and challenges in the thrust area of the optics, display, and photonics?
Title: Quantum Rod Light Emitting Diodes: Opportunities and Challenges
- Introduce the fundamentals of quantum rod light-emitting diodes (QR-LEDs) and their operating principles, materials, and device architectures.
- Highlight recent advances in quantum rod synthesis, surface engineering, charge transport, electroluminescence, and device fabrication.
- Explore opportunities for high-performance optoelectronic applications, including displays, solid-state lighting, photonics, and emerging quantum technologies.
- Discuss the challenges associated with efficiency, stability, quantum yield, charge injection, alignment of quantum rods, scalability, and long-term device reliability.
- Promote interdisciplinary interaction among researchers, academicians, students, and industry professionals working in nanomaterials, semiconductor physics, photonics, and optoelectronics.
- Identify future research directions for developing efficient, flexible, low-cost, and environmentally sustainable quantum rod-based LED technologies.
