Overview

“Shabd–Samvada” is a fortnightly academic dialogue series started by SHABD – The Debate Club, under the Sharda School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SSHSS). Rooted in the Indian intellectual tradition of Guru–Śiṣya Paramparā, the series looks to cultivate sustained academic dialogue, critical inquiry, and reflective discussion among students.

The series is conceived as a continuous academic engagement beyond formal debates and classroom pedagogy. Each session focuses on a contemporary and contextually relevant issue of academic, social, political, cultural, or public significance. Through moderated dialogue, student participation, and faculty mentorship, the initiative aims to strengthen analytical reasoning, articulation, and interdisciplinary thinking within the academic environment of SSHSS.
