Objectives of Event

  • Genetic disorders, although diverse in presentation and severity, collectively contribute significantly to neonatal morbidity and mortality. Early detection through newborn screening programs has revolutionized the management of many inherited conditions, enabling timely intervention and improved outcomes. This CME aims to highlight the importance of newborn screening, discuss some case scenarios highlighting prevalent treatable genetic disorders, and provide an in-depth overview of Gaucher disease.
