Overview

Sharda School of Allied Health Sciences, Sharda University is organizing a “Symposium” Theme "Empowering Health Through Diagnostics: The Role of the Medical Laboratory Scientistson 15th October, 2025.

About the Event:

The Department of Medical Laboratory Technology at Sharda School of Allied Health Sciences is proud to host a symposium focused on the pivotal role of medical laboratory scientists in modern healthcare. This event aims to explore how diagnostic advancements empower patient care through precise laboratory analysis and innovation.

In line with our ongoing commitment to advancing the understanding of laboratory science, we are also organizing a Poster Making Competition on the theme “Mind Over Matter: The Role of Laboratory Science in Mental Health.” This competition invites participants to creatively explore and illustrate how laboratory science supports mental health through the identification of biomarkers, insights into neurochemistry, and crucial lab diagnostics that aid psychiatric evaluations.

We encourage students and professionals alike to showcase the vital connection between cutting-edge laboratory techniques and improved mental health care.

With rapid advancements in diagnostic technologies, such as molecular diagnostics, genomics, proteomics, and automated lab instrumentation, medical laboratory scientists are at the forefront of transforming patient care. The event will highlight how innovations in laboratory science not only improve the speed and accuracy of test results but also enable personalized medicine, early disease detection, and more targeted therapeutic strategies.

Through expert presentations, panel discussions, and case studies, the symposium aims to shed light on the indispensable contributions of laboratory science to healthcare outcomes, fostering greater appreciation for this vital field and encouraging collaboration among healthcare professionals, researchers, and students. This gathering will also provide a platform for exchanging ideas on future trends and challenges in laboratory diagnostics, ultimately inspiring a new generation of medical laboratory scientists to advance healthcare through cutting-edge research and technology.

Event Highlights-

Discussion by experts on "Laboratory Parameters in the Assessment of Mental Health: Bridging Biological Markers and Psychiatric Evaluation" highlights the growing importance of using laboratory tests to support mental health diagnoses. Biological markers, such as hormone levels, neurotransmitter metabolites, and inflammatory indicators, provide objective data that complement clinical psychiatric assessments. These parameters help in understanding the underlying biochemical and physiological changes associated with mental disorders. Integrating lab results with psychiatric evaluations can improve diagnosis accuracy, monitor treatment response, and personalize mental healthcare. This approach bridges the gap between biology and psychology, fostering a more comprehensive understanding of mental health.

Further Discussion onAdvance Diagnostic Techniques in Microbiology for AMR Detection”

The rapid emergence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses a significant global health challenge, making the need for advanced diagnostic techniques in microbiology more critical than ever. Modern methods such as molecular diagnostics, including PCR-based assays, next-generation sequencing (NGS), and microarray technology, enable the swift and precise identification of resistant pathogens and their specific resistance genes. These cutting-edge techniques surpass traditional culture-based methods by providing faster results, which is essential for timely and appropriate antimicrobial therapy. Event continue with “Exploring Diverse Career Pathways in the Healthcare Industry” aims to provide valuable insights into the vast and dynamic opportunities available within the healthcare sector. As healthcare continues to evolve with technological advancements and changing patient needs, the range of career options has expanded far beyond traditional clinical roles. This event will highlight various professional pathways for medical laboratory technology. By showcasing these diverse roles, the symposium seeks to guide students, professionals, and aspiring healthcare workers in making informed career choices aligned with their interests and skills.
