Overview

Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course is an internationally recognized course, certified by American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, with the aim of training doctors in appropriate management of trauma patients in the initial few hours of the injury. Course involves interactive case discussions, hands on practice for life saving procedures, group discussions and practical skill stations.

Objectives of Event

  • Assess a patient’s condition rapidly and accurately.
  • Resuscitate and stabilize patients according to priority.
  • Determine whether a patient’s needs exceed the resources of a facility and/or the capability of a provider.
  • Ensure that optimal care is provided and that the level of care does not deteriorate at any point during the evaluation, resuscitation, or transfer process.
