Overview

The Department of Orthodontics is organizing an academic seminar titled “Damon Ultima – Where Design Drives Performance” for postgraduate students. The session will be delivered by Dr. Vignesh P from Ormco, who will present the design philosophy, biomechanics, and clinical advantages of the Damon Ultima system.

The seminar will focus on the innovative features of the Damon Ultima brackets and wires, highlighting how precision-driven design enhances treatment efficiency, torque control, and overall clinical outcomes. Practical insights, case discussions, and evidence-based concepts will be shared to help postgraduate students understand the application of this advanced orthodontic system in contemporary practice.

This session aims to broaden clinical knowledge, encourage interactive learning, and familiarize students with the latest developments in self-ligating orthodontic technology.

Objectives of Event

• To introduce postgraduate orthodontic students to the design principles and clinical philosophy of the Damon Ultima system.

• To understand the biomechanics and torque expression advantages offered by the Damon Ultima bracket–wire interface.

• To familiarize students with the clinical workflow, treatment efficiency, and finishing protocols using the system.

• To present evidence-based concepts and clinical cases demonstrating the performance of the Damon Ultima appliance.

• To broaden clinical knowledge and promote adoption of advanced orthodontic systems in day-to-day practice.
