Overview

The Sharda School of Bio-Science & Technology (SSBT), Sharda University, through its Department of Biotechnology, Department of Food Science & Technology and Department of Life Science, is organizing an Guest Lecture on “The Job Changed While You Were Applying: Biotech in the AI Era” on 2nd September 2026.

This expert lecture will introduce newly admitted students to the rapidly evolving landscape of biotechnology and life sciences in the era of Artificial Intelligence. It will explore how AI, data-driven technologies, and automation are transforming job roles, research practices, and industry requirements across Biotechnology, Food Science & Technology, and Life Sciences. The session will highlight emerging career opportunities and the changing skill sets expected by future employers. It aims to encourage students to embrace interdisciplinary learning and develop an adaptive, technology-oriented mindset from the beginning of their academic journey.

Objectives of Event

 

 

  • To introduce students to the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in biotechnology, food science, and life sciences.
  • To familiarize students with emerging job roles, career opportunities, and evolving industry requirements in the AI-driven biotech sector.
  • To highlight the changing skill sets required to remain competitive, including data literacy, computational thinking, digital tools, and interdisciplinary knowledge.
  • To bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs by showcasing real-world applications of AI in research, innovation, and biotechnology enterprises.
  • To encourage students to develop an adaptable and future-ready mindset and proactively prepare for the changing demands of the biotech and life science workforce.
