Overview

Deeksharambh 2026-27 is the mandatory Student Induction Programme (SIP) organised by Sharda School of Engineering & Sciences (SSES) for its newly admitted UG and PG students, structured strictly as per the UGC document "Deeksharambh – A Guide to Student Induction Programme" following the SAGE framework (Socializing – Associating – Governing – Experiencing).

The programme is spread over 24–29 August 2026 (four programme days: 24, 25, 27 and 29 August 2026) and blends common School-level sessions at the Hackathon Centre (Block-45) with parallel departmental activities of all seven departments of SSES. It commences with lamp lighting, Saraswati Vandana and ceremonial welcome of new entrants, followed by the Dean's address and introduction to the University; mandatory awareness sessions on anti-ragging, POSH, anti-intoxicants, safety, security, health & hygiene and IIC; an industry interaction with the Chief Guest from L&T; and fixed sessions on human values and mindfulness, environmental and climate responsibility, motivation, and fitness & wellness.

Departmental components include HOD welcome, laboratory / workshop / ICT facility visits, Central Library and campus tour, industrial visits, mentor–mentee group formation and departmental interactions. Orientation on assessment, evaluation and examination procedures, PeopleSoft & Sharda academic portal (LMS), DSW services and scholarship schemes is also covered. Cultural, sports, reel-making and talent activities are held in the post-lunch slots, and the programme concludes on 29 August 2026 with departmental report presentations, prize distribution and the valedictory address by the Hon'ble Dean, SSES.
