Overview

Anusha Rizvi  is an Indian film director and screenwriter, best known for her debut feature Peepli Live (2010). Peepli Live premiered in the World Competition section at the Sundance Film Festival 2010, becoming the first Indian film in 25 years to do so. The film won the Best First Film Award at the Durban International Film Festival and the Gollapudi Srinivas Award, and was India’s official entry to the 83rd Academy Awards. Rizvi has also directed BBC documentaries Amul and Khadi, and worked on National Geographic’s Hijack IC-814.

Objectives of Event

The invited talk by filmmaker Anusha Rizvi, whose directorial film Peepli Live was selected as India’s official entry to the 83rd Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film, aims to familiarize students with the modern technologies used in storytelling in the digital age.
