Overview
On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, the Tobacco Cessation Centre (TCC), Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology & Deparment of Public Health Dentistry, School of Dental Sciences, Sharda University in association with District tobacco cesation cell, CMO office, Gautam Buddha Nagar & CHIP foundation , INDIA is organizing a Dental Screening and Tobacco Cessation Camp at Gautam Buddha University, Greater noida to spread awareness regarding the ill effects of tobacco consumption and the importance of maintaining good oral health.
The camp will be focusing on oral examination and screening for tobacco-related oral lesions, oral potentially malignant disorders, and early signs of oral cancer. Participants will be educated about the adverse effects of smoking and smokeless tobacco habits. Tobacco users will be provided with motivation and guidance for quitting tobacco, along with information regarding available cessation support services.The program will also emphasize the importance of regular dental check-ups, oral hygiene maintenance, healthy dietary habits, and early detection of oral diseases.
Objectives of Event
- To conduct oral health and oral cancer screening among the community population.
- To identify tobacco users and educate them regarding the harmful effects of smoking and smokeless tobacco products.
- To create awareness about oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs) and oral cancer.
- To provide personalized tobacco cessation counselling and motivation for quitting tobacco habits.
- To promote preventive oral healthcare and early diagnosis of oral lesions.
- To educate the public regarding maintenance of oral hygiene and healthy lifestyle practices.
