Overview

The Broken Tile Mural Workshop is a one-day hands-on collaborative design event organized by the Sharda School of Design, in association with Somany Group (Tile Manufacturer). The workshop focuses on transforming waste and broken ceramic tiles into a large-scale artistic mural based on the theme “Unity in Diversity.”

Students will explore sustainable design, material reuse, and mosaic art techniques while creating a symbolic and visually powerful public art installation. Through this experiential learning approach, participants will gain practical exposure to material handling, composition, color harmony, and collaborative art-making.

Objectives of Event

The intended Objectives are to:

● To promote sustainable design practices through reuse of broken and waste tiles.

● To introduce students to mosaic art and mural-making techniques.

● To encourage teamwork and collaborative creativity.

● To connect industry materials (Somany tiles) with academic design practice.

● To create a permanent symbolic artwork representing unity, diversity, and social harmony.
