Dear All,

Sharda School of Law, Sharda University, is organizing a Guest Lecture on Thursday, 26th

February 2026, at 11:00 AM, at the Chanakya Auditorium, on the occasion of International

Mother Language Day.

The lecture is being conducted to commemorate the importance of linguistic diversity and

to promote awareness about the preservation and protection of mother languages in a

multilingual society like India. International Mother Language Day serves as a reminder of

the cultural richness embedded in regional languages and the need to safeguard linguistic

heritage for future generations.

The event aims to bring together students, faculty members, and distinguished guests to

engage in meaningful discussions on the significance of mother tongues in shaping identity,

culture, legal understanding, and social development. The invited speaker will share

valuable insights on the role of language in law, governance, education, and access to

justice.

Objectives of Event

The lecture aims to sensitise law students and faculty members towards the

importance of Indian languages in legal education, court practice, and access to

justice.

● To create awareness among law students and faculty about the significance of Indian

languages in legal education and the justice delivery system.

● To promote linguistic inclusivity in legal drafting, pleadings, and judicial processes.

● To sensitise participants towards the objective of “Justice to the people in the language of

the people.”

● To encourage academic dialogue on integrating Indian languages into professional legal

training.

● To provide an interactive platform for students and faculty to engage with eminent

academicians and legal practitioners on contemporary developments in legal education.
