Overview

Sharda School of Nursing Science & Research (SSNSR), Sharda University is organizing a health awareness and skill-based workshop on the theme “Be Ready, Be Aware: Everyday First Aid, CPR & Health Essentials for Life” under the Department of Community Health Nursing, as part of its ongoing extension and outreach initiatives.

The workshop aims to equip non-medical students with essential life-saving skills and fundamental health knowledge required to effectively respond to everyday emergencies and maintain overall well-being. In daily life, emergencies such as minor injuries, burns, choking, fainting, or sudden cardiac arrest can occur unexpectedly at home, in educational institutions, or in public places. Immediate response through basic First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) can significantly reduce complications and even save lives before professional medical help becomes available.

Alongside emergency preparedness, awareness of essential health aspects such as menstrual hygiene, anaemia prevention, healthy lifestyle practices, and mental well-being plays a vital role in maintaining overall health and productivity. This workshop is specially designed for non-medical students to provide simple, practical, and essential knowledge that can be applied in real-life situations. It also encourages active participation and shared responsibility in promoting health and safety within the community.

The program provides an excellent experiential learning opportunity for nursing students, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge in real-life settings. Through demonstrations, interactions, and health education activities, students enhance their clinical skills, communication, leadership, and confidence as future healthcare professionals.
