Overview
The one-week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Scientific Research Writing is designed to enhance the research and academic writing skills of dental faculty members. In the evolving landscape of dental education and evidence-based practice, the ability to conduct, document, and publish high-quality research is essential. This programme provides comprehensive training on the principles of scientific writing, research methodology, data presentation, publication ethics, and manuscript submission.
Objectives of Event
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
- Understand the fundamentals of scientific research and writing.
- Develop skills in structuring a scientific manuscript (abstract, introduction, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion).
- Apply appropriate research methodologies and basic statistical tools.
- Demonstrate the ability to critically appraise scientific literature.
- Use reference management tools and citation styles effectively.
- Identify suitable journals and understand the publication process.
- Recognize issues related to plagiarism, authorship, and publication ethics.
- Respond effectively to reviewers’ comments and revise manuscripts accordingly.
- Prepare and submit a research manuscript for publication.
- Foster collaboration and interdisciplinary research within dental sciences.
