Overview
Department of Biotechnology, Sharda School of Bio-Science & Technology (SSBT) is organizing an expert lecture on “Gender Sensitization: Scientific, Social and Professional perspectives” on 29th June 2026.
This event aims to empower university students and staff members with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to contribute to a more inclusive and equitable university environment that respects and values gender diversity in all its dimensions.
Objectives of Event
1. Educational Awareness: Conduct awareness session to educate university students and staff members about gender diversity, stereotypes, and biases prevalent in academic and professional settings.
2. Integration of Gender Sensitivity in Curriculum: Integrate modules on gender sensitization into the university curriculum across disciplines, emphasizing the importance of understanding gender issues in scientific research, societal roles, and professional environments.
3. Creating Safe and Inclusive Spaces: Establish and promote safe and inclusive spaces on campus where all genders feel respected and valued, fostering a supportive environment for learning, research, and professional growth.
4. Promoting Equal Opportunities and Representation: Advocate for equal opportunities and representation of all genders in academic leadership, research positions, student organizations, and administrative roles within the university.
5. Building Support Networks: Develop support networks and resources for students and staff members to address issues related to gender-based discrimination, harassment, and other challenges they may face in their academic and professional journeys.
