Overview

Saral AI is supported by Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF). Saral AI enables researchers to convert scholarly artifacts such as research papers and patents into multiple reusable and accessible formats, including videos, slide decks, posters, reels, podcasts, and social media content. By lowering technical and communication barriers, SARAL supports researchers, educators, and institutions in amplifying the reach and impact of their work. Saral also enables researchers to consume scholarly content in multiple formats and languages, supporting inclusive and accessible knowledge engagement.

Objectives of Event

A key capability of Saral AI is multilingual video generation, with outputs currently supported in Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santali, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu, enabling research communication at population scale.

The session will include a hands-on component; participants are encouraged to bring their own research paper(s) and a laptop so that they can actively use the Saral platform during the session. The talk will also cover the platform architecture, workflows, and adoption experiences.

Speaker Details:

  • Prof. Ponnurangam Kumaraguru (“PK”) is currently a Visiting Scientist at the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India, and serves as the President of ACM India. He is a Professor of Computer Science at IIIT Hyderabad. PK is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (FNAE) and an Adjunct Faculty at IIT Madras, IIT Hyderabad, and IIIT Delhi. He was inducted as an ACM Distinguished Member in 2021 and is a TEDx Speaker, ACM Distinguished Speaker, and ACM India Eminent Speaker. PK received his Ph.D. from the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). His Ph.D. thesis work on anti-phishing research at CMU contributed in creating an award-winning startup - Wombat Security Technologies, wombatsecurity.com. Wombat was acquired in March 2018 for USD 225 Million. PK was listed in the World's 2% Scientists by Stanford University in Nov 2020.
