Overview
The Training Programme on Advanced Surveying using Drone Geomatics is a specialized initiative designed for the faculty members and students of the Department of Civil Engineering. The programme aims to enhance technical knowledge and practical skills in cutting-edge surveying methodologies using drone technology integrated with geomatics.
As the field of civil engineering evolves with the adoption of high-resolution spatial data and automation, drone-based geomatics offers significant advantages in topographical mapping, infrastructure monitoring, volumetric analysis, land use planning, and more. This training will bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry-relevant practices, preparing participants to effectively implement drone surveying in academic research and real-world projects.
Duration: 19th May 2025 - 6th June 2025.
Objectives of Event
- To introduce participants to advanced surveying concepts using drone geomatics.
- To provide practical training in flight planning, data collection, and processing.
- To enable students and faculty to use drone-generated data for civil engineering applications.
- To support curriculum enrichment and promote research in remote sensing and geospatial technologies.
