Overview

World No Tobacco Day is celebrated every year on 31st May to create awareness and educate people about the harmful effects of tobacco consumed in any form worldwide. The theme for this year is “Unmasking the Appeal: Exposing Industry Tactics on Tobacco and Nicotine Products”

The Department of Periodontology, School of Dental Sciences, Sharda University on this note is organizing various events with the aim to create awareness among patients as well as dental students about the deleterious effects of tobacco.

Objectives of Event

  • Educate the public about the health risks associated with tobacco use, including smoking and smokeless tobacco products.
  • Encourage individuals to quit tobacco use and adopt healthier habits.
  • Provide information about available resources, such as counselling, guidelines, and cessation programs.
  • Counter misleading information spread by the tobacco industry and correct misconceptions.
