Overview

The Pro Bono Club, Sharda School of Law, Sharda University is organising “Azadi Utsav 2026” throughout August to commemorate India’s Independence Day through a series of meaningful awareness, educational, and community-oriented activities.

The initiative seeks to move beyond the celebration of independence to reflect on Constitutional Rights, Fundamental Duties, democratic values, national unity, and citizens' responsibilities in building a progressive and inclusive India. As part of the Utsav, a range of activities will be organised for diverse sections of society, including psychological awareness and engagement sessions at the Juvenile Observation Home for Boys and Girls, a lecture on Constitutional Values for professionals, Visit to Prime Minister Museum, an essay writing competition on “Viksit Bharat @2047,” and an interactive school programme on Constitutional Rights, Duties, Values & the Spirit of Independence at Ratan Public School, Greater Noida.

Through these activities, the initiative aims to promote constitutional literacy, mental well-being, responsible citizenship, critical thinking, and social awareness, while encouraging participants to connect the idea of freedom with the values of justice, equality, dignity, fraternity, and civic responsibility.

Azadi Utsav 2026 is envisioned as a collective celebration of the spirit of independence-where rights empower citizens, duties strengthen society, and constitutional values guide the journey towards a stronger and Viksit Bharat.

As part of this month-long celebration, the Pro Bono Club, Sharda School of Law, Sharda University will organise “Azadi Utsav: Constitutional Rights, Duties, Values & the Spirit of Independence” on 12 August 2026 at Ratan Public School, Greater Noida. Inspired by the vision of “Nation First,” the programme will reinforce the importance of balancing rights with duties in building a stronger, more inclusive, and responsible India.
