Overview

Sharda School of Agricultural Sciences proposes to organize an educational field visit to Beejom Farms, Tajpur Village, Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, under the Student READY (Rural Entrepreneurship & Awareness Development Yojna) programme, as part of RAWE (Rural Agricultural Work Experience) for B.Sc. (Hons.), Agriculture, VIIth Semester students. The purpose of the visit to engage the students with the sustainable agricultural practices embodied at Beejom — including natural farming, organic manure production using indigenous cattle, cultivation of heirloom seeds, promotion of Indian millets and traditional foods, solar and biogas use, rainwater harvesting, and vermiculture. Students will also interact with farm staff, participate in demonstrations, and gain insight into off‑grid operations and grassroots level natural farming.

Objectives of Event

  • To enable students to witness and understand applied natural and regenerative farming techniques in a working farm setting.
  • To expose students to the use of indigenous cattle in manure production and the role of traditional seeds, millets and foods in ecological and food security.
  • To familiarize students with sustainable off‑grid technologies (solar, biogas), water management, and composting/vermiculture in practice.
