Overview

Students of Pro Bono Club, Sharda School of Law, in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Gautam Budh Nagar, are participating in the upcoming National Lok Adalat on 13th September 2025 (Saturday) at Surjapur Court, Gautam Budh Nagar.

Lok Adalat means People’s Court. Lok Adalat is governed by the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, and the National Legal Services Authorities (Lok Adalat) Regulation, 2009. One of the key functions of the Legal Services Authority is to conduct Lok Adalats, whereby any pending cases relating to the following matters can be taken up for adjudication through mutual consent of the disputing parties.

Objectives of Event

·         To raise awareness about the purpose and functioning of Lok Adalats.

·         To highlight their role in providing accessible, affordable, and speedy justice.
(SDG 16)

·         To guide the general public regarding free legal aid and the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987.
(SDG 16/SDG 17)

·         To provide experiential learning to students through community engagement.
(SDG 4)
