Overview

The Sharda School of Nursing Science and Research (SSNSR) is Planning a visit to "old age home in Greater Noida, on June 11, 2025. as part of their academic curriculum.

The visit aimed to enhance the students' understanding of geriatric care and to sensitize them to the physical, psychological, and social needs of the elderly population. The visit is expected to   provide valuable exposure to real life scenarios of aging, helping students bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. It will also emphasize the importance of empathy, patience and holistic care in nursing practice

This field experience contributed significantly to the students’ professional development in the area of community and geriatric nursing.

Objectives of Event

The objectives of the Event are,

  • To assess the physical, emotional, and social health needs of elderly residents through direct interaction and observation.
  • To provide basic nursing care and conduct health check-ups, including monitoring of vital signs.
  • To educate the residents on health maintenance, hygiene, nutrition, and age-related disease prevention.
  • To develop empathy, communication skills, and a caring attitude among nursing students towards the geriatric population.
