Overview
In line with our commitment to continuous Faculty Development and adoption of emerging pedagogical technologies, Sharda School of Business Studies, Sharda University, will be conducting an International Faculty Development Program on “Fiscal Federalism: Theoretical Foundations and Contemporary Challenges”.The FDP aims to deepen understanding of public finance economics, equity, externalities, intergovernmental grants, and contemporary challenges in fiscal federalism. The program aims to enhance faculty members' efficacy in course curriculum development, teaching, assessment, and counseling.
The Faculty Development Programme is designed to equip participants with knowledge and skills about Fiscal Federalism, as aconcept of public finance, and explore the division of financial responsibilities between different levels of government (central, regional, local) within a federal system. It encompasses the principles, policies, and institutions that govern intergovernmental financial relations, aiming to achieve both efficiency and equity in resource allocation and service delivery.
Objectives of Event
- To provide a comprehensive understanding of how financial responsibilities and resources are allocated between different levels of government in a federal system
- To examine the division of taxing powers, expenditure assignments, and intergovernmental transfer mechanisms
- To promote economic efficiency, address regional disparities, and foster cooperative governance
