Overview
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sharda School of Engineering & Science (SSES) is organizing an Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Autodesk Fusion 360 and 3D Printing" from 27th May 2024 to 31st May 2024 to provide faculty members with hands-on training and in-depth understanding of modern computer-aided design (CAD) tools and additive manufacturing technologies. The FDP aimed to bridge the gap between academic curriculum and industrial practices, enhancing the teaching-learning process in design and manufacturing courses.
Autodesk Fusion is a cloud-based 3D modeling, CAD, CAM, CAE, and PCB software platform developed by Autodesk. It’s widely used by engineers, designers, machinists, and educators to design, simulate, manufacture, and collaborate on product development — all within a single tool. Curiosity3D, founded by Mr. Raunaq Dua, is on a mission to revolutionize Indian education by introducing the power of 3D Printing and digital manufacturing to upskill India and make learning practical, hands-on, and industry-oriented. It is India’s only training company offering hands-on experience with FDM, SLA, SLS, and other 3D Printing technologies. Curiosity3D is also an authorized training partner of Autodesk.
Objectives of Event
- To enhance faculty proficiency in CAD design using Autodesk Fusion 360, covering parametric modeling, simulation, and assembly design for effective teaching and research.
- To provide foundational and practical knowledge of 3D printing technologies, including process types, material selection, and design for additive manufacturing.
- To promote integration of digital design and fabrication tools into academic curricula, fostering experiential learning and innovation among students.
- To bridge the gap between academic instruction and industry practices, enabling faculty to mentor students in modern product development workflows and rapid prototyping.
