Overview

The Sharda School of Nursing Science and Research is organizing a special event in observance of World Immunization Week, in alignment with the 2025 theme, “Vaccines: A Shield for Life—Ensuring Protection for All.”

This awareness and education program is designed to emphasize the critical role of immunization in preventing infectious diseases and promoting overall public health. The initiative seeks to educate the community, nursing students, and healthcare professionals about essential vaccines included in immunization schedules, such as BCG, OPV, pentavalent, and MMR vaccines. The program will also explore the scientific foundation of how vaccines function, their effectiveness in reducing morbidity and mortality, and their contribution to achieving herd immunity. Furthermore, the session will address potential complications and adverse events following immunization (AEFI), along with appropriate management strategies. By disseminating accurate, evidence-based information and addressing common misconceptions, the event aims to strengthen public confidence in vaccination and support global efforts toward increased immunization coverage for a healthier, more protected future.
