Overview

The Sharda School of Nursing Science and Research (SSNSR) , Sharda University is hosting a "skill development on nutrition and dietetics" event in Sharda University, Greater Noida, on April 29th and 30th, 2026.

This programme focuses on developing nursing students’ skills in the preparation of therapeutic diets for various disease CONDITION for different age groups through laboratory-based learning. It emphasizes on the importance of individualized nutrition, diet modification, and balanced meal planning in disease management and recovery.

The event aims to help students apply theoretical knowledge into practice by preparing condition-specific diets, understanding nutrient requirements, and ensuring appropriate dietary care. It highlights the role of nurses in promoting health, preventing complications, and supporting patient well-being through effective nutritional interventions

Objectives of Event

The objectives of the Event are

  • To develop competency in planning and preparing therapeutic diets for various disease conditions.

  • To enhance skills in modifying diets for different age groups based on clinical and nutritional needs.
    (SDG 4 – Quality Education)
  • To promote the use of balanced, disease-specific diets for prevention and management of illnesses.

To encourage the use of locally available, cost-effective foods along with safe and sustainable cooking practices in diet preparation.
