Key Themes Covered

1. Evolving Methodological Landscapes

The first segment addressed the shift from purely quantitative or qualitative designs toward integrated mixed-methods frameworks. how combining statistical analysis with narrative inquiry allows researchers to capture both scale and meaning. He presented case studies from education and public health where mixed methods revealed insights that single-method designs would have missed

2. Technology in Data Collection and Analysis

A major focus was on the role of digital tools in modern research. how AI-assisted literature reviews, automated transcription, and data visualization platforms are reducing the time between data collection and insight generation. He also cautioned about methodological pitfalls, including algorithmic bias, over-reliance on automated coding, and the need for transparency in AI-assisted processes

3. Research Ethics and Reproducibility

With growing scrutiny on academic integrity, time to ethics in data handling, informed consent in digital environments, and reproducibility standards. He walked participants through protocols for pre-registration, data archiving, and open science practices, emphasizing that credibility is now a core outcome of research design

4. Writing for Impact

The final segment dealt with structuring research outputs for academic journals and policy audiences. the anatomy of a strong research paper, highlighting the importance of clear problem statements, logical alignment between objectives and methods, and results that speak directly to the research gap identified

5. Engagement and Outcomes

The workshop will combine lecture, live demonstrations, and small-group exercises, Q&A session addressed practical challenges

Objectives of Event

Objectives

1. Strengthen research capacity for evidence-based decision making Equip participants with updated mixed-methods and data analysis skills to design studies that generate reliable evidence. SDG Link: SDG 4 – Quality Education and SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions by improving the quality and credibility of research that informs policy and practice.

2. Promote ethical and responsible research practicesBuild understanding of research ethics, data integrity, reproducibility, and open science standards in the digital age.SDG Link: SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions by fostering transparency, accountability, and trust in academic and scientific work.

3. Leverage technology for inclusive and efficient research processes Introduce participants to AI-assisted tools, digital data collection, and visualization techniques to enhance accessibility and reduce research time. SDG Link: SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure by encouraging responsible adoption of innovation in academic research.

4. Encourage interdisciplinary and socially relevant research Guide scholars to frame research questions that address real-world challenges, particularly those aligned with sustainable development priorities. SDG Link: SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being, SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, and other relevant SDGs by aligning research outputs with societal needs.
