Overview

The Department of Life Sciences (Food Science and Technology) at the Sharda School of Bio Science and Technology, Sharda University, Greater Noida, in collaboration with FICCI is celebrating World Food Day on Thursday, September 25, 2025. The theme for this year is “Hand in hand for better foods and a better future,” emphasizing the importance of building inclusive and sustainable food systems for a brighter future for all. 

Objectives of Event

  • Raise awareness about food security: Highlight the challenges of ensuring sufficient, safe, and nutritious food for everyone, especially in vulnerable communities.
  • Promote sustainable food systems: Encourage practices that support long-term sustainability in agriculture, food production, and consumption to protect the environment and future food supplies.
  • Ensure inclusivity: Advocate for food systems that provide equitable access to healthy food for all, addressing disparities in food distribution and access.
  • Combat hunger and malnutrition: Focus on reducing global hunger and malnutrition by promoting better nutrition, food distribution, and accessibility initiatives.
  • Inspire action for a better future: Motivate individuals, organizations, and governments to take collective actions for a food-secure world, ensuring that no one is left behind.
