Sharda School of Allied Health Sciences, Sharda University, is organizing Two-Day Hands-on Workshop on Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology for Persons with Locomotor Disabilities on 24st to 25th September 2026.

About the Event:

This two-day hands-on workshop aims to strengthen participants’ understanding of locomotor disabilities, rehabilitation, and assistive technology through a person-centred, practical approach. The program explores disability perspectives, lived experiences, functional limitations, participation challenges, and the role of rehabilitation professionals. Participants will gain practical insights into assistive technology selection, functional assessment, prescription, usability, user training, safety, confidence, independence, and meaningful participation in family and community life.

Objectives of Event

  1. Understand the principles of disability, inclusion, and rehabilitation in modern healthcare.
  2. Identify the role of assistive technology in enhancing independence and participation.
  3. Apply the basics of assistive technology assessment, prescription, user training, and follow-up.
  4. Strengthen clinical decision-making and person-centred rehabilitation skills.
  5. Develop the knowledge and confidence to integrate assistive technology into professional practice.
