About the Event

The Department of Forensic Science is organizing an Educational Autopsy Visit for the students of B.Sc. Forensic Science at AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences). This visit aims to provide students with practical exposure to medico-legal autopsy procedures and enhance their understanding of forensic pathology. Participants will observe the systematic examination of a body, learn about the determination of cause and manner of death, and understand the medico-legal significance of various autopsy findings. This hands-on learning experience will bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world forensic practice, helping students gain valuable insights into the investigative and scientific aspects of post-mortem examinations.

Objectives of Event

·         To familiarize students with standard autopsy procedures and medico-legal protocols followed during post-mortem examinations.

·         To help students correlate theoretical knowledge of forensic pathology with practical, real-world applications.

·         To enhance understanding of injury interpretation, cause of death determination, and documentation in medico-legal autopsies.

·         To encourage professional observation skills and ethical awareness while dealing with human remains in forensic contexts.
