Overview

Sharda School of Law, Sharda University, is organizing an Educational Visit to African-Asian Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) on 22^nd October 2026 from01:00 PM onwards at AALCO, Secretariat, New Delhi.

AALCO is an intergovernmental organisation which provides a platform for African and Asian countries to exchange views and cooperate on matters of international law. It contributes to the development and progressive codification of international law and addresses contemporary legal issues affecting its member states. India is a founding member and hosts the headquarters of AALCO in New Delhi. The educational visit aims to provide students with practical exposure to the functioning of an international legal organisation and its role in the development of international law.

Objectives of Event

• To familiarise students with the structure, functions and working of AALCO and its role in international law.
• To provide practical exposure to the functioning of an intergovernmental legal organisation and its engagement with contemporary legal issues.
• To facilitate interaction between students, faculty and experts at AALCO, encouraging meaningful academic discussions.
• To enhance students’ understanding of international legal practice, particularly in the context of cooperation between Asian and African States.
