About the Event:

The Expert Lecture on Taxation Law in Practice: Understanding Income Heads, Deductions and Tax Computation for Future Lawyers will be held on 14th September, 2026.

The session will focus on:

  • Understanding the different heads of income under the Income-tax law
  • Income from salary, allowances, HRA and perquisites
  • Income from house property and basic concepts of business or professional income
  • Understanding income from capital gains and other sources
  • Overview of deductions under Sections 80C to 80U

Coverage by the Expert:

The resource person will provide practical and application-oriented guidance on taxation law, including:

A. Understanding the different heads of income under the Income-tax law and their practical relevance.

B. Understanding income from Salary, including allowances, HRA and perquisites.

C. Understanding Income from House Property and the basic concepts of Business or Professional Income.

D. Understanding Income from Capital Gains and Income from Other Sources, with practical examples.

Objectives of Event

 

·         Develop a practical understanding of the different heads of income under the Income-tax law.

·         Enhance students’ understanding of Salary Income, including allowances, HRA and perquisites, with practical applications.

·         Familiarise students with the basic principles of Income from House Property, Business or Professional Income, Capital Gains and Other Sources.

·         Provide practical insights into deductions under Sections 80C to 80U and their role in determining taxable income.
