Overview

The Sharda School of Design (SSD), Sharda University is organizing a Site Visit for the Interior Design Studio forThird-year B.ID. students on 23 September 2026 in Noida as part of their academic learning in the subject Advanced Building Materials. The visit aims to provide students with practical exposure to a wide range of contemporary building materials, interior products, finishes, construction systems, and innovative material applications used in present-day design practice.

During the visit, students will explore various categories of materials such as flooring, wall finishes, sanitary fittings, hardware, plumbing products, lighting components, surface materials, adhesives, paints, modular solutions, and other interior and construction products. The visit enables students to understand the physical properties, applications, installation methods, performance characteristics, maintenance requirements, and market availability of different materials.

The interaction with product displays and industry representatives will help students connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications. It also provides an opportunity to understand current material trends, sustainable alternatives, technological advancements, and product selection criteria relevant to interior and building design.

Overall, the visit serves as an experiential learning activity that strengthened the students’ understanding of advanced building materials and their appropriate use in professional design projects.
