The School of Pharmacy, Sharda University is proud to celebrate the 5th National Pharmacovigilance Week from September 18th to 22nd, 2025 (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM), in line with the national observance from September 17th to 23rd, 2025. The theme for this year is:

 

“Your Safety, Just a Click Away: Report to PvPI.”

 

This week-long celebration is dedicated to promoting the culture of drug safety, patient protection, and active reporting of Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs). Through a series of engaging academic and cultural activities, the event aims to raise awareness among students, faculty, and the wider community on the importance of pharmacovigilance and its role in safeguarding patient health.

 

Highlights of the Event:

  1. Extempore – “Pharmacovigilance: The Backbone of Patient Safety”
    • Encouraging critical thinking on ADR reporting and its role in preventing harm.
  2. Click, Report, Save: The Journey of ADR Reporting
    • A creative showcase to demonstrate the simplicity and importance of ADR reporting via PvPI.
  3. Common Drugs and Their Side Effects
    • Enhancing knowledge of frequently used medicines and their adverse effects.
  4. Nukkad Natak (Street Play): “Silent Dangers: ADRs and How to Speak Up”
    • Using performing arts to highlight the consequences of unreported ADRs and empower the community.
  5. Collage Activity: “Safe Medication Practices”
    • Promoting awareness of safe drug use and patient counseling through visual expression.
  6. Prescription Analysis Activity: “Ensuring Safe Prescriptions: The Role of Pharmacovigilance”
    • Training students to identify prescription errors and understand clinical pharmacovigilance.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Increased awareness of ADR reporting mechanisms.
  • Enhanced knowledge and skills in pharmacovigilance practices.
  • Active student and community engagement in drug safety initiatives.
  • Strengthened reporting culture at academic and community levels.
