Dear All,

Department of Mathematics & Data Science, Sharda School of Engineering & Science in Collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), is organizing a workshop entitled "Foundational Research Approaches for Scholars of Mathematics & Data Science" on 21st May 2026.

This workshop aims to strengthen institutional research excellence while empowering individual researchers through data-driven insights and global benchmarks. Participants will gain practical understanding of publication trends, citation impact, research rankings, and high-impact journals using Scopus and other tools. The event also provides guidance on selecting appropriate research methodologies and article types for scholars at different stages of their research journey. It focuses on aligning research outputs with NIRF, QS, and Times Higher Education parameters and integrating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for societal impact. Additionally, it will guide researchers in building strong personal research profiles, selecting quality journals, and aligning proposals with funding agency priorities.

 

Objectives of Event

Objectives of the workshop:

·       To equip scholars with effective research writing skills for publishing in peer-reviewed academic journals.

 

·       To guide participants in identifying credible, indexed journals (Scopus, Web of Science, etc.) relevant to Mathematics & Data Science scholars.

 

·       To develop strategic approaches for increasing research quality, visibility, and academic impact through ethical publishing practices.

 

Expected Outcome:

·       Improved awareness of credible publication platforms.

·       Enhanced research publication quality and output.

·       Better understanding of research impact and citation metrics.

·       Strengthened institutional research culture.
