Overview

The visit is a heritage walk organized for the students of History programme of SSHSS to two of UNESCO World heritage sites -Red Fort & Humayun’s Tomb located in New Delhi. The visit is part of the student’s courses like Tourism & Heritage Management, Medieval India, Landscapes of Delhi etc. Hence, the visit aims at giving an experiential learning experience to the students of history.

Objectives of Event

  • To provide students with a hands-on learning experience about India’s rich history, architecture and cultural heritage.
  • Historical Significance: Understand the importance of Red Fort and Humayun’s Tomb in Indian history and their role in shaping country’s cultural heritage.
  • Cultural Context: Gain insights into the cultural and social context of the Mughal era and its impact on Indian society.
  • Architectural appreciation: Appreciate the unique features of both monuments, including various styles.
  • Understand the concept of tourism promotion in context of our heritage sites.
