Overview

The Sharda School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Sharda University has planned one day field visit to Girdharpur village, Greater Noida. In the visit the students of Sociology domain; such as B.A IV, and VI semesters and MA II semester will be participated and understand different issues and opportunities of rural communities. The visit is designed as an experiential learning activity to help students connect sociological concepts with lived rural realities. During the visit, students will learn about primary healthcare facilities at the rural level and the living conditions of rural communities. The visit further emphasized the community's sustainability practices, including water conservation, agricultural practices, the use of local resources, waste reuse, and traditional knowledge systems that promote environmental balance. Overall, the field visit will serve as a valuable educational experience, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts and deepen their understanding of rural social realities.

Objectives of Event

•To understand rural health conditions by observing healthcare practices, sanitation, nutrition, and access to medical facilities in rural communities. 

•To study habitat and living conditions in villages, including housing patterns, water availability, sanitation facilities, and waste management systems. 

•To examine sustainability practices in rural areas, such as water conservation, agricultural methods, the use of natural resources, and traditional ecological knowledge.
