Overview

Sharda School of Nursing Science & Research (SSNSR), Sharda University  is organizing an event on 23rd September 2025 ,  as part of the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare  focuses on Antenatal Care (ANC) Checkups with Counselling and Mother & Child Protection (MCP) Card Distribution. This initiative highlights the importance of maternal and child health, aiming to create awareness and provide comprehensive support to expectant mother and also make them ware about the importance of regular ANC checkups to identify the potential risk factors in pregnancy at an early stage, ensure timely interventions, and promote safe motherhood. During this event, pregnant women will undergo health assessments, including vital signs monitoring, and guidance on pregnancy-related issues.  In addition to ANC assessment, counselling sessions will be conducted to educate the mothers on balanced diet, importance of rest and exercise, danger signs during pregnancy, institutional delivery, immunization, breastfeeding, and postnatal care. These interactive sessions will also involve family members to emphasize the shared responsibility in ensuring maternal and child wellbeing. Moreover this event also involving the distribution of MCP cards will serve as a vital tool for mothers to record, track, and follow health milestones, vaccination schedules, and growth parameters of both mother and child.

 

Objectives of Event

·       To provide quality ANC checkups and counselling to pregnant women (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being)

·       To empower mothers with knowledge on safe pregnancy and child care practices. (SDG 4: Quality Education)

·       To distribute MCP cards for systematic health tracking. (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being)

·        To encourage family and community participation in maternal and child health promotion. (SDG 5: Gender Equality; SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals)
